In this special edition, we head to Spring 1944 and the skies above the Normandy beaches for the biggest air operation ever organized…

To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the editors of “Fana de l’aviation” have put together 130 pages on the Allied air forces who helped make Operation Overlord a great success and a key date in history.

Our team has sought out and gathered together the best articles on D-Day seen from the sky, with an update for each one – plus a number of previously unpublished articles, of course.

Naming the aircraft that flew that day over the Normandy hedgerows, the sea and the beaches, “Le Fana de l’aviation” outlines the context in which the aircraft operated: intelligence, transport, reconnaissance, bomber, fighter, and so on. In short, an issue for the many fans of “The Longest Day” to treasure.
