In the latest adventures of “Les Chevaliers du ciel”, the risk of a fratricidal confrontation between Tanguy and Laverdure has never seemed so imminent.
In previous volumes, Tanguy and Laverdure found themselves at odds with the opposing army, the CIA and a corrupt industrialist from an imaginary country called “Khuranie”, and had to avoid conflict at all costs…
In the wake of this explosive situation, Tanguy finds himself imprisoned in enemy territory in this new volume. Against his will, Tanguy is forced to train Chinese pilots, whose main air activity consists in violating the airspace of Jinian Island, a highly coveted territory.
Against the backdrop of an all-out provocation, Laverdure is sent by NATO to secure the island of Jinian against these repeated incursions… A sensitive situation made all the more so by the fact that if war were to break out, the two friends would find themselves face to face, with Tanguy running the risk of “treason”.
That about sums up this (disastrous?) scenario from two of today’s leading aviation comic book writers. At this point, they hardly need an introduction, Patrice Buendia (“Buck Danny” and more) and Frédéric Zumbiehl (“Team Rafale”, “Buck Danny” and more), accompanied by the talented Sébastien Philippe, a regular contributor to “Tanguy et Laverdure” for illustrations.
