In this 23rd volume, “Missions Kimono” explores the issue of terrorism. As ever, with spectacular scenes throughout.
We’re headed to the Middle East for this 23rd volume of “Missions Kimono”. Entitled “The Hostages of Daraa”, its plot casts the reader into a web of espionage and terrorism. Deployed to the Middle East, a pilot from the 11th flotilla based in Landivisiau – the heir of the AC1, the very first fighter squadron of Aviation d’Escadre – is carrying out a routine flight between two bases.
But tracking his movement, a particularly determined group of terrorists manages to take him hostage, alongside a bodyguard who was mistaken for another pilot. Evidence of their extreme motivation, the kidnappers set fire to a tanker-truck near the airfield to successfully execute this double-abduction scheme.
While they are held captive, the two men learn purely by chance that a major attack is being planned on French soil. From then on, a single obsession will guide these two unlucky companions: to escape their prison as soon as possible so they can warn the government of the grave danger looming over their homeland…
