On board the Rafale, head to North Africa for this new volume of “Missions Kimono”.
As part of a mission led by France, two Rafale Marines take off from the “Charles de Gaulle” aircraft carrier to reconnoiter the Libyan territory – a total area of 1.76 million sq. km. One of these Rafale pilots is Xavier Mittelberger, known as “Mittel”, the main hero of “Mission Kimono”, accompanied by Jacques Yves Fleuret.
As a member of the oldest combat unit of the French Naval Air Force, the 11F flotilla (created in 1953 and whose rallying cry is “Kimono”, as a matter of fact), Mittel must carry out a mission that seems no different from any other. But after a series of adventures, he is forced to land his aircraft on a secret location from which he might never take off again. On his own and on the brink of despair, the French pilot will, however, make an encounter just as unexpected as improbable…
Precise and attentive to details as always, Jean-Yves Brouard and Francis Nicole, author and illustrator of “Missions Kimono” respectively, have given us an album with an action-packed plot. And there is good reason for this: this is a “one shot” adventure with no sequel. This volume features many other military aircraft (including MIG 21s), with scenes set against an original backdrop of vast deserts!
