Buck Danny is back! This time, the aviator and his sidekicks set out for California and find themselves up against artificial intelligence. Can the machine outfly the pilot?
The latest issue of “The Adventures of Buck Danny,” “The Skyborg Program” explores cutting-edge technology. Summoned to Edwards Air Force Base in the U.S., a place they know well, Buck, Sonny and Tumbler are welcomed by Colonel Hayen, all under the watchful eye of a… computer specialist. Their task: to test – and maybe even fight – a top secret weapon, the Skyborg, a fighter jet entirely controlled by artificial intelligence. Buck is the first to come up against it, and manages to beat it comfortably (in a simulation). But there is a problem: the simulator doesn’t seem to have been programmed quite right…
Between investigating the machine and questioning the need (or not) for pilots now that software seems to be able to do their job, the three partners struggle to find their place with regard to artificial intelligence, especially Tumbler. Meanwhile, men who have come all the way from Asia prowl the California desert and seem interested by the Skyborg Program. Are they here to steal it? To hack it? Nobody knows. Just as a second clash between Buck Danny and the fighter looms, this time in the air, a mysterious Native American woman appears…
As you can well imagine, suspense, espionage, glamor and high-flying exploits are all on offer in this 59th volume, to be concluded in the sequel to this two-part story! You’ll hear very soon about part two…
