The first major air show in August 2024 will take place in Mainfonds, at the end of the European Hot Air Balloon Cup. Here’s the agenda!
For almost three decades now, Mainfonds, a town in the Charente region of France, has held an air festival featuring hot air balloons from all over Europe. The 2024 edition will remain true to tradition, culminating in an air show on Sunday, August 4 with some 20,000 spectators expected.
On the ground, there will be a host of stands and other entertainment, including a cabaret, drone shows and fireworks. In the air, visitors will be able to admire a vast line-up including The Acrobats and Alternative Duo display teams, the French Air and Space Force aerobatics team and, still in terms of aerobatics, a presentation of the Beech 55.
As for vintage aircraft, there will be a presentation of the North American AT-6D. And on the tactical side, there will be a demonstration by the Mustang X-Ray team (French Air and Space Force) and another by the Rafale Solo Display team. In short, a full program to get August off to a flying start.
