At the 48th La Ferté-Alais Air Show, you’ll be taken a step back in time, with the “fly-in” theme on the agenda. Find out what will be happening!
The “Le Temps des hélices” air show will go back to its roots on August 28 and 29, 2021, inspired by the very beginnings of the show, which at the time was called the “Fête aéro-folklorique” [folk air show]. The air show, which has since become a major event, now welcomes some 40,000 spectators every year. The show, organized by the Amicale Jean Baptiste Salis and Aéroclub de France, usually takes place over the Pentecost weekend, but this year has adapted to the pandemic and was postponed until the end of the summer.
Over the two days, spectators will be able to admire no fewer than 100 aircraft in flight, over a five-hour non-stop show in the Essonne skies. The show, tracing the history of aviation by theme, will present civil and military models, from the planes of the pioneers to the latest generation aircraft. Spectators will be able to see a Blériot XI, a Caudron G.3, a replica of the Fokker Dr.I Triplane and many more newer aircraft!
The French Air Force will also be in attendance, with the Patrouille de France and its Alphajets in particular, as well as the Rafale Solo Display, paying tribute to the pilot Jérôme Thoule. Also, do not miss initiation flights, autograph signings, tours (Douglas DC-3, Junkers Ju-52, etc.), demonstrations and several exhibitor villages.
If you recognize the style of the poster, you are perhaps familiar with our website, as it is Romain Hugault, whose comics we often mention (“Le Pilote à l’edelweiss” and “Saint-Ex, un prince dans sa citadelle”), that designed the very 1930s look of this edition, with a Stearman PT-17, a Ford 39 and a pin-up.
