Former managing director of Production, Jean-Claude Veber passed away on April 28, 2020 at the age of 96.
A Supaéro engineer (class of 1947), after a short time at Turboméca, he began working on the first flights of the Mystère II prototype in 1950, beginning a career at Dassault Aviation that spanned over 40 years.
He led the creation of the Mercure assembly center (CMM) in Istres in the early 1970s, before becoming responsible for all manufacturing plants as managing director of Production.
From 1978 to 1983, he chaired the Gifas production committee.
In addition to his work in aeronautics, he was very involved in developing an artificial heart.
He was a Knight of the Legion of Honor, a Knight of the National Order of Merit, and was also decorated with the Aeronautical Medal.
