In partnership with Dassault Aviation, MBDA, Safran, the French Air Force and GIFAS, the Airemploi association, which bears the “Feminizing the aeronautics professions” label, is organizing a series of events around the theme of “Women in Defense”, taking place from November 18 to 26 as part of Industry Week.

The aim of these events is to introduce young women to the many career opportunities in the aerospace, defense and arms industries, fields in which they remain under-represented. Through visits to industrial sites and discussions with female professionals, “Women in Defense” aims to inspire the next generation of female talent and demonstrate that careers in these fields are just as accessible to them.

The highlight of the week will be Friday November 22, 2024 at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace at Le Bourget.

Around fifty girls from high schools near the museum will have the opportunity to talk to professionals from partner companies, to help break down the barriers of self-censorship that still prevent young women from choosing these careers. The high-school girls will also enjoy a special tour of the museum dedicated to “Women in the Air”. Guests from partner companies’ Women’s networks will be invited to a networking event and round table discussion.

November 22 program:

09:00 – 10:00: Testimonials from young defense professionals in the presence of 50 local high school girls.

10am – 11am: For young girls: meetings with professionals from partner companies. For professionals: networking.

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: For girls: themed tour of the “Women of the Air” museum. For professionals: round-table discussion on “How to attract and retain tomorrow’s talent”.
