Souvenir photos for the joint winners of the 8th Dassault Aviation UAV Challenge inter-school competition. After nearly 9 months of technological innovation and aeronautical passion, the ESTACA and ISAE-SUPAERO teams enjoyed a VIP day at SIAE 2023 in Paris-Le Bourget.
Initiated and organized by Dassault Aviation since 2014, the Dassault UAV Challenge is, in fact, aimed at students at French engineering schools and universities. The student challenge is based on the design of a drone, its automation and optimization in order to get closer to the problems of an aircraft manufacturer.
With between 2 and 6 students per team, and per school, the competition brings into play a wide range of skills: aeromodeling, automation, programming, electronics, machine learning, project and team management.
After several weeks of selection, more than 6 months of design, development and testing will follow, followed by 2 days of live team competition in May, as well as a unique and immersive day for the lucky winners within the Dassault Aviation teams.
